Quick Pimple Treatment

Expensive face washes, creams, lotions, potions, and even pills out there for acne that may take days or weeks to have any sort of effect can't compare trusty old Witch Hazel. The best part, it usually runs about $2 dlls for 16 oz.

I've bought the $100 dlls kits from ProActiv Solution, the $5 dlls face wash from Clean & Clear, and EVERYTHING in between. Some work, some don't. But when I have a break out and I just want a quick fix, Witch Hazel is the best. Apply a few drops with a cotton ball in the morning or the night before, and the improvement is almost instant.

Witch Hazel is a strong anti-oxidant and astringent that is actually an ingredient used in some of the acne fighting products out there. It also dermatologist recommended, so feel free to ask next time you have an appointment. Let me reiterate that it is very strong. Witch Hazel is great for the occasional break out or zit but when used on a daily basis it can dry out your skin. It's best to stick with a face wash* and use Witch Hazel as more of a spot treatment. But definitely allow your skin to rehydrate and don't over do it, it is very effective.

Witch Hazel usually comes in a bottle that looks similar to rubbing alcohol. It isn't usually marketed for acne treatment, so you won't see any skin models on the bottle. It is more of a simple home remedy. You can pick it up in any local drug store or supermarket. Again, it only runs about 10 cents an ounce so it is definitely a worthwhile investment.

Please don't expect any miracles, but realistically Witch Hazel will dry up or clear up a pimple or zit almost completely in about a day. In a few hours you will absolutely see a marked improvement. Good Luck!
