Mayonnaise... Good For Hair?

Everyone wants their hair to shimmer. Everyone wants it to be glossy and silky instead of dry and dull. However, some people have heads hair that is naturally duller. So, they go to the shopping centers and hair salons looking for that “magic mixture” that can turn their hair into a thing of beauty and grace. What people don’t know is that they don’t have to spend around forty dollars on a hair product with some special name brand because there are so many simple household items that can give your hair life – like mayonnaise!.

You may wonder, “But is mayonnaise even good for my hair?” Well, one of the main things that mayonnaise takes care of in hair is dryness. If you have dry, straw-like hair, then yes, mayonnaise would be excellent for your hair because it’s the perfect mix of ingredients.

For one, it contains vegetable oil which is one thing that dry hair begs for. If your scalp can’t produce enough natural oils, vegetable oil (found in abundance in mayonnaise) will make up for the lack. The extra oil will coat each hair shaft making the hair easier to work with, and not as coarse.

Also, mayonnaise has egg. Egg is known to give body to bone-straight hair making it look healthier and livelier.

Another ingredient is vinegar – just the thing to make your hair shine.

So, yes, mayonnaise is good for hair because it contains so many natural elements that benefit your hair individually. Some may be concerned about the extra chemicals or preservatives that would be found in this store-bought condiment, but in reality, all those extras in mayonnaise really don’t do any damage at all on your hair. They’re irrelevant.

The only thing that should make you hesitate when massaging that white goo into your hair is whether or not your hair really needs it. Hair that is already soft and bodily doesn’t need any extra oil and adding mayonnaise would only add excess grease that your hair won’t be able to absorb. Even more so for oily hair. If you have excess oil as it is coming from your scalp, don’t use mayonnaise – it’ll only make matters worse.

It’s inexpensive, it’s readily available, and it’s easy to use. No more special creams or conditioners need to be rubbed into your hair shafts when all your dry hair needs is a little bit of that white creamy stuff that has so many uses.
